Dear Anonymous Commenter...

Someone (anonymously) commented on my blog yesterday in response to my Favorite Food Friday post. Here is the comment they left.

What you are suggesting is - more or less - junk food. Not the healthiest choices, processed food, with chemicals in it. Sorry. I do not intend to sound that harsh - I just would never eat this stuff and I am amazed that you seem to be so enthusiastic.

Well... I would just like to remind Mr. or Ms. Anonymous that if you don't have something nice to say, DON'T say anything at all.

I did not ask if a Skinny Cow, Diet Coke, Subway Chicken Salad Sandwich, Vanilla Ice Cream Cone or Graeter's Chocolate Chip Ice Cream was healthy. I don't care if they are healthy. I don't care if they are processed or soaked in chemicals. I like them and they make me happy.

This is not an issue of Women's Health Magazine. It is a blog. My blog. I don't smoke, use drugs, bungee jump or do anything remotely dangerous. If I would like to have a double scoop of Chocolate Chip Ice Cream to celebrate a really big moment in my life (like I did last week) I think I'll be okay.

If you don't think my food preferences don't eat them and if you would like to criticize my food preferences don't bother.

And if you are bold enough to critique my personal food choices at least leave your name...

Now, I don't mean to be so harsh but when you criticize my blog I will take it personal. You may have meant no harm by your comments- but this might remind you to think before you type.

  3. I will never understand why anonymous commenters feel the need to be so rude! I have yet to receive a mean comment on my blog, but I am like you in the fact that I would take it very personal- my blog is just my everyday ramblings, but if you dislike my blog topics, you dislike my life- definitely to be taken personally, lol!

  4. YOU GO GIRRRRL haha. Ok so maybe they were processed foods....but since when did Subway's chicken salad become processed food? SHe has obviously not heard the Subway jingle - "Subway, Eaaaat FRESH!" haha You have to laugh about it. OR you can just laugh at me haha....if that girl can honestly say she doesn't eat ANY processed "junk" whatsoever, give her a medal...not saying it cannot be done but just about everything is processed...more power to her but your right, she needs to blog about that on HER blog, not yours. High 5's hahaha

  5. Processed food is delicious. I could eat McDonald's fries every single day. And they tasted better in NYC BEFORE they banned the trans fat ban. Just not the same. Ha.

  6. Ok.. so they aren't the healthiest.. but you are right. Anon. doesn't like it, she doesn't have to eat it. Personally there is nothing wrong with indulging in a scoop or two of your favorite ice cream to a mark a big event. All things in moderation and life is good.

  7. You did call them TREATS, correct? I believe so. That implies that you eat them on occasion, correct? I believe so.

And I hate to break it to the chemical-police but it isn't going to kill you if you eat processed foods with big bad chemicals in them. I sure hope this commenter only eats lettuce..and I sure as hell hope it's organic.

  8. Um really? Who gives a crap if you eat processed food. The only person who should care is, well, you!

Sorry Ms. Food Police, but this is none of your business.

    *skips off to McDonalds*

  9. Bwahaha…I love your response to that comment! Good for you. I wish that people that leave anonymous comments would at least come out of hiding. I think that if they’re bold enough to make certain statement, then they should at least say who they are.

  10. I just had a similar, albeit more personal, attack through an anonymous comment on my blog. People are so bold and rude with the anonymity they can have on the internet! If they don't want to read, they don't have to... and the rest of us love you just as you are and also love the "junk" that person hates.

    xoxo
